With Women’s Poker growing at an exponential rate and Lauren Failla is offering women a chance to play in there very own Poker Tour aptly named the High Heels Poker Tour. This has been grown out of the emergence of many women entering tournaments all over the world along with many women playing more and more cash games at local casinos. The High Heels Poker Tour launched in Florida in 2007, the whole though process behind the tour was to give women not only a chance to play against women only but more so to give them the tools they need to be successful in both tournament play and cash play against all comers. The Mission Statement is as follows: “The mission of the tour is to empower women to become champion poker players…”
The High Heels Poker Tour has had a big impact on the poker world and was seen at this past WSOP where 50 – 60% of all Female competitors were from the tour, and they combined for more then $200,000 in prize money with two of the final nine in the ladies events being from the tour. High Heels Poker Tour is an official sponsor of WSOP Circuit Ladies Only Events. Buy-ins for High Heels Poker Tour Events range from $60 – $250 for Main Events, the tour is not with out its problems as is any tour. In a recent stop some men wanted to play so instead of causing a potential scene Lauren placed a bounty on the heads of the males and made the event that much more fun.
The next stop on the High Heels calendar is at The Isle Racing and Casino at Pompano Park on September 6, 2008 at 1pm with a $250 buy-in, and there are going to be satellites offered for the event on Saturdays leading up to the event.
