Sixfold and ControlPay have been part of the Transporeon family since September. With Real Time Visibility as well as billing automation and payment analysis, the tow companies supplement the Transporeon portfolio by very efficient services. As we are part of the Transporeon family, our customers will benefit from the expanded portfolio of our parent company in the future.

Sixfold – Data Transparency through Real Time Visibility

After three years of successful cooperation, Transporeon and Sixfold are deepening their collaboration with a merger. The integration of Sixfold’s state-of-the-art RTV technology into Transporeon’s cloud-based platform for transport logistics and thus into Europe’s largest network of shippers and freight forwarders brings important scaling effects.

Sixfold tracks over 500 million euros worth of goods daily in real time and supports its customers in more than 40 countries and 25 European languages. The platform is secure and DSGVO compliant. The scaling of RTV technology across a large network of shippers and carriers enables increased efficiency and reduced costs across the transport industry – ultimately leading to lower CO2 emissions. One in three trucks today still drives empty. Not only does this result in higher transport costs for shippers and carriers, it also causes damage to the environment and increases the overall carbon footprint of the entire industry.

For Transporeon’s customers, the integration of RTV technology and its smooth application represents a significant development in logistics management. Until August 31, 2021 Transporeon will cover all necessary costs for its customers – after that date Transporeon commits to continue to invest and offer competitive prices for RTV technology.

Stephan Sieber, CEO of Transporeon, comments on the merger as follows: “We need to remove upfront barriers. We’re serious about creating data transparency for all and combining visibility with execution will enable our customers to continuously improve their operations and open a whole new set of innovation potentials to all of us! “

These include in particular the automotive, heavy, consumer goods and pharmaceutical industries as well as the health care sector. ControlPay optimizes the freight billing process for both shippers and carriers. Through its platform, ControlPay collects critical data across all modes of transport. This gives users a comprehensive and well-founded insight into their logistics processes.

Transporeon’s service offering is aligned along the value chain. With ControlPay, our colleagues from Ulm can now also cover the last processing steps around automated invoicing and the analysis of payment-related data.

To create and deliver just-in-time, online process control, many manufacturers rely on digitization and automation. At transport logistic 2019 in Munich, Germany (June 4-7), the Transporeon Group will present its latest contributions to the overall data-driven supply chain and give numerous technical lectures on its exhibition stand (in Hall A3, 101/202). Solutions will include data-optimized bid allocation and transport assignment as well as end-to-end tracking of full and partial truck loads. In addition, the Group’s market intelligence organization TIM CONSULT will present a completely revised online service for the evaluation of price and capacity developments in European road transportation.

Data-based decisions replace gut instinct

Dispatchers at shipping companies decide daily whether to place transport orders at fixed rates or conduct bids at short notice on the so-called spot market. Until recently, this decision was based on their prior experience and gut feeling. But now Transporeon is enabling data-based decision making with a range of new solutions. Its innovative Offer Retrospect and Offer Prediction products use artificial intelligence to provide valuable information on whether rate-based or spot-market allocation is likely to be more successful and more economical. These tools can also be used to forecast capacity availability for planned transports.

Additionally, shippers can use another of Transporeon’s new data-driven products, the Connecting Load Agent, to instantly compare loading dates with any unloading times and locations already agreed with carriers. This makes it easy for shippers to find out how many carriers are unloading in the vicinity of an upcoming load and therefore are likely to be 2 searching for a connecting load. If the number is large, the shipper may decide to offer the upcoming load on the spot market, as co-located carriers offer lower rates in order to avoid an empty run. This also benefits the environment as fewer empty journeys means lower carbon dioxide emissions.

Integrated real-time tracking

Another key Transporeon topic at transport logistic 2019 will be the tracking of full truck loads (FTL) and partial truck loads (LTL). Together with real-time visibility provider Sixfold, Transporeon has recently launched a new, integrated, and easily implemented solution. Sixfold connects carriers’ truck fleets primarily via the telematics systems they use. As these systems are now seamlessly integrated in the Transporeon platform, shippers can track deliveries in real time based on the estimated time of arrival (ETA). This means that shippers need only log into one platform – Transporeon – to manage transport bids, transport assignment, time slot management, and now also delivery tracking. This solution is unique in the European market.

Another first-time highlight at transport logistic 2019 will be presentation by the Transporeon Group’s market intelligence organisation, TIM CONSULT, of its completely revised Transport Market Monitor. Available from June, this analysis tool offers information on price and capacity developments in European road transportation, using data from the vast Transporeon database.
